CFER is a program at Riverdale that recycles computers the right way .The computers which have been collected by various companies such as Staples are delivered to Riverdale. They are then taken apart and sorted by gray plastic, beige plastic, aluminum, steel and other categories. The sorted materials are then placed in a 53-ft truck and taken to Geep. Geep is a company situated in Barry, Ontario which receives parts from CFER’s across Canada. Geep recycles 83% of all computer parts received! CFER has 35 students and 4 teachers, making a huge difference in our environment.

Don’t forget; BATTERIES CANNOT BE THROWN OUT with your regular trash!

If you have any dead/old batteries, come by room 227(Ms.Lavoie), and dispose of them in our battery bin.

This is the Green Team’s third year running. It all started with the help of two former Riverdale students in 2008. They wanted to do more than just recycling paper…

In 2010, not only is Riverdale recycling paper, we are now recycling plastic bottles, cans and juices boxes! Our mission this year is to encourage students to use reusable lunch bags, stainless steel water bottles and last but not least, Tupperware containers instead of plastic wrap. So, in other words, our mission is for everyday to be a “Waste-Free Lunch Day!”

Although it was postponed to Monday October 4th it turned out great because the sun was shining. The walk was filled with staff and students who were proud to represent Riverdale. The food was great and healthy. Many students and staff played some great activities such as; the pony game, twister, tug of war and a dance off. Everyone had a blast.

Thank you grade 9 & 10 leadership, especially S.U.G.E for making this event possible and taking your time to think about us, Riverdale students.

In memory of Terry Fox, he made it possible to find a way to cure the dreadful l disease, cancer.

We raised plenty of money for the Terry Fox foundation.

Thank you !

The atmosphere at the 2010 convocation on October 7th 2010, was filled with pride and accomplishment as the former students of Riverdale High School entered the front gymnasium to receive their diplomas. Friends and family members watched with great excitement as the ceremony went on with many great performances and speeches. Several awards, trophies and scholarships were given to all the very deserving graduates. After many applauds and sincere congratulations, the students, teachers and family members were escorted to the cafeteria for delicious treats, among them, chocolate covered strawberries. Congratulations Riverdale graduates and best of luck in your futures!
